Joint Osteoarthritis (OA) is an increasing health concern for many in the community. OA in the knee is the leading cause of knee pain in the over 50's and for many will lead to a knee replacement in the future. There are things that can be done to postpone or prevent the need for a joint replacement. Modification of activities to reduce joint load and treatment of the tissues around the affected joint can reduce pain and improve function - even possibly prevent the joint replacement completely.
